RIPE Atlas Interface Hackathon

Please note that the deadline for applications to participate in this hackathon was 23 March 2016.

Event Information

This is an opportunity for enthusiastic coders, front-end developers, UI designers, hackers, network operators and others to work together with RIPE Atlas developers to improve RIPE Atlas for all users. The goal of this hackathon is to improve or come up with entirely new ways to interface with RIPE Atlas. This includes everything from dashboards, alerts and plug-ins for existing monitoring systems to novel graphical user interfaces (GUI), improvements to the command-line clients (CLI) and algorithmic analysis of data patterns - or something completely different.

Format

Small teams will work with RIPE Atlas developers and can choose to either work on furthering existing ideas developed by the RIPE Atlas team and community, or entirely new projects. At the end of the two-day event, we aim to have completed interfaces or working prototypes.

Participants will work together in teams to further develop their ideas, culminating in short presentations to the jury on Sunday afternoon and a social event to announce the winning teams and celebrate everyone's participation. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the weekend.

All source code developed during the hackathon will be publicly licensed and available on GitHub, and available for the entire community to use.

If you believe you might be eligible for travel funding, please state this (including the reason why) in the application form. The jury will make final decisions about who will receive funding and how much they will receive.

Application and Deadline
